Barcelona!
Last year, we were invited by Roche Pharmaceuticals to Lucerne, Switzerland. Here, we delivered a talk to some of the staff as well as many from the organisation across the world who tuned in online. It was clear that we did something right as we were invited to Barcelona to speak at a NeuRoSymosium. It was a hard decision to make (gentle irony) but Peter, Teresa and I agreed to go. An early start last Thursday to Heathrow, a flight to Barcelona, a taxi ride to our hotel

Dementias Conference 2026
Yesterday Peter and I had another wonderful opportunity to give an audience a glimpse into what it's like for him to live with Alzheimer's. We were invited to the Dementias Conference 2026 by rochediagnosticsuk and off we went to London to talk about the benefits of early diagnosis and the power of knowing what a dementia diagnosis offers. It was a long day for both of us; travelling from Suffolk to London appears easy enough but everything takes time and London is (as Peter

Patching the Puncture: The Book Launch!
Peter and I had a truly fantastic book launch in Ipswich. Unfortunately, in the general furore of the moment, I didn't take as many photos as I would have liked but a few others did and I have managed to capture some of those which might give a flavour of the day. We were delighted to welcome Anthony Douglas, Independent Chair of Suffolk Adult Safeguarding Board and Christopher Cheshire FCIOB MAPM, Chairperson of Safe and Found Online (SAFO). These two speakers demonstrate

Free bags and an interview
As always, warmest thanks to Sarah Lilley and Johnnie Wright for having us on the show this morning. This was a great opportunity to share news of Patching the Puncture's imminent arrival and to emphasise how Peter continues to live well with dementia. BBC Radio Suffolk has always been so supportive and I never feel that I thank them enough for all the publicity and support they offer so consider this a heartfelt thanks! The link to the interview can be found in the media se

Felixstowe Radio
Thank you to Nic Marsden from the Felixstowe Integrated Neighbourhood Team for engineering our radio slot with Laura Locke at Felixstowe Radio today. Although the show was billed as ‘woman’s hour’ we all agreed that Peter’s presence was pretty well a necessity! There was much laughter and merriment to be had as we chatted all things from cycling and books to dementia and living well to friendship and Arsenal - oh yes, Arsenal will always crop up! Thanks to Laura for being

A Hattrick of Podcasts: Fighting Dementia
Clearly November is destined to be podcast season. Having made one podcast with Fading Memories and another with Able Training, we were on for the hattrick. And the hattrick duly arrived. On Wednesday, Peter and I were delighted to be guests on the Fighting Dementia Podcast . Hosted by Leon Rossiter, with resident guests Fran and Tom (both of whom are living with their own dementia diagnosis) we were able to chat about stereotypical reactions to those living with an Alzhe

Winners!
A few weeks ago, Peter and I were nominated for the 2025 UK Health Radio Awards by TDW Radio (the dementia word) in the category of the Wendy Mitchell Dementia Support award. I am chuffed to say that we have won! TDW Radio is part of UK Health Radio and hosted by Pete Hill, whose podcasts and work are consistently outstanding. In an email to me today, Pete sent this very kind message: "The dedication you have both shown to educating audiences across the country and the wor

It's Podcast Season Again!
It's that time of year! With the new book looming (and new books, like extra time and penalties in football, always loom) and the days getting shorter and less conducive for cycling, what better way to spend our time than being podcast guests! Peter and I have been the guests on two podcasts in quick succession over the last couple of weeks: the first with Jennifer Fink, creator of Fading Memories podcast in San Francisco and the second with Andy Baker, author and trainer,

BBC Children in Need Event
Peter was invited to take part in BBC Radio Suffolk's three legged walk as part of a wider BBC initiative for Children In Need. He spent a happy thirty minutes or so tethered to presenter, Sarah Lilley, and the pair of them lolloped along the coast of Felixstowe. Now an expert at live interviews, Peter also managed a quick catch up with listeners along the way and I was also grateful for another opportunity to promote our upcoming book, Patching the Puncture and to explain

Walk with Me (#3)
A while ago Will, from the Suffolk Safeguarding Partnership (SSP), promised that he would organise, or facilitate others to organise, three events across Suffolk so that Peter and I could share our story to a larger audience. Will delivered on his promise and, although he is modest and shies away from praise and publicity I'm giving him some here. Thanks to Will's Herculean tenacity, last year Peter and I 'performed' at the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds, followed by a 'g
