Ipswich Hospital Talk

1 min read

Peter and I delivered another talk at Ipswich Hospital for the Older Person's Team training day. We did a talk there a while ago but it's fascinating to see how Peter adapts his basic narrative to fit his current circumstances.

It's always a privilege to listen to Peter talk and to have that peek into what is going on his his mind. Yes, I can see the changes and sometimes details are omitted from his talk but, to take their place, other details emerge. However, his fluency remains and his warmth and engaging manner always pull the audience in.

His closing words today were: "today I am standing up here telling you about my lived experience with dementia but, tomorrow or at any time in the future, it could be any one of you."

Peter is pleased to be a patron of For Brian CIC -  an evolving concept, co-produced by its directors in collaboration with its beneficiaries living with dementia. The company aims to empower people living with dementia and their families to design support that meets their individual needs, providing agency in challenging circumstances. Cycling plays a huge part in their existence.
