Whistle Stop Catch Up!

So, what's happened in Peter's world since we lasted posted?

Lesley Dolphin and BBC Radio Suffolk:

Peter and I have been on the virtual sofa again with the ever wonderful Lesley Dolphin (link below) for a catch up and a tweeting revelation from me.

Reaching the Youngsters:

After her show, Lesley received an email from Dr Wheeler, the Assistant Principal of Thurston Community College. Dr Wheeler was so taken by Peter's interview that she requested a copy of the interview to play to students who were studying for their Health and Social Care qualifications. Subsequently Dr Wheeler and I have had a chat and Peter will be visiting the college in the next few months to deliver a presentation to those students. It is so important to reach this age group of young people (16-18 year olds) and this is a great opportunity to do just that. Dr Wheeler was particularly interested in how Peter helped debunk some of the myths and stereotypes around dementia. She will also be ordering copies of our books for the college library and the local community library.

Hertfordshire Life and Essex Life Magazine:

Today Peter did a telephone interview with this magazine for a feature on dementia. This is a publication owned by the Archant group and the article should appear in their next edition with hopefully a follow up by the Suffolk magazine.

National News:

Peter and Teresa have been interviewed by a journalist from a national paper - that's all we can say at the moment but when/if the story is published, links will be shared!

Cycling:

And, of course, there was the small matter of the 530 miles Peter cycled on his fixed gear bike...

Coming Up in March:

March 2nd The Weavers Tearoom - 10am until noon - planning is well under way for Peter's fundraising event. Come and join us for cakes, a raffle and a talk by Peter - keep your eyes open for updates on Facebook or Twitter. Monies raised for Alzheimer's Research UK.

March 26th Alzheimer's Show - Peter will be one of the key speakers at this prestigious show in London.
