The lockdown this bank holiday meant that we have had time to focus on going through the manuscript one final time to iron out those last minute errors and typos. Even as I type this, the envelope containing those final changes is being lovingly transported to the local post office by an industrious elf (OK, by Martin) from whence it will be despatched with all due haste to the publishers.
So, now we have a front cover, some great quotes for the back cover, including one from the dashingly suave, Hugh Bonneville (pictured below looking both dashing and suave as befits a dashingly suave person), some wonderful photos and, of course, the small matter of 43,000 words bunged in between all that lot. We are getting there and our excitement must evident to all.
We are still hoping the book will be published by the end of September but, even if it is delayed slightly, it will make someone a great Christmas/Hanukkah present.
