Last year, Peter and I were contacted by an American, Nikki Jardin, who was keen to have an article about our cycling endeavours for her magazine, Mirador Magazine - A Dementia-Friendly Publication. Mirador is a publication for those living with memory impairment or brain trauma and its unique selling point is that it is NOT about dementia but it is FOR those living with this or similar conditions. The articles and puzzles are designed to be accessible and fun.
Our article last year in Volume Eight, Gear and Pedal, features Peter on his penny farthing and has proved to be a very popular edition.
Nikki has always been keen for her magazine to be available in the UK and, through the power of networking, I was delighted to introduce her to Nathan and Maddy at Softwood Books. The company are based in Stowmarket and, during Nikki's recent trip back to Suffolk, we were able to join her at Langham Manor Care Home for the launch of the publication. Big thanks to Nathan and Maddy for organising this event and for Langham Manor's hospitality to us all.
The transatlantic relationships continue to thrive!
