Today Peter delivered a zoom presentation to SOLLA (Society of Later Life Advisers.) This is the third talk Peter has done for SOLLA: having already presented to the Suffolk and Cambridge groups, the Berry bandwagon rolled on across East of England and today landed (virtually) in Lincoln. At this rate, we will be in Leicestershire before Christmas!
As Shakespeare so rightly said, although money can complicate things, it can also make life much easier. Peter has a great deal of key information to share with people who advise others on financial matters and it's great that he continues to have opportunities to contribute to these advisers' understanding and knowledge. Of course, Peter only speaks from his own experiences so what he said was personal to him and might not be applicable to another person's diagnosis or situation. However, in Peter's case the diagnosis of early onset dementia came with a host of financial issues for the family to unpick and sharing these experiences and knowledge must only be beneficial for SOLLA's members.
As always, the talk was unscripted, from the heart and was well received with the offer of another event - a recording of Peter speaking about living well with dementia. This will be put on SOLLA's website in their resource section and be available for members to hear.
Onward, my liege, to Leicestershire we shall go...
