Virtual Reality Project

Today was the introductory session of Suffolk Council's virtual reality project. In conjunction with SparkLab (spark-lab.co.uk), the work is focused around "building a co-produced platform for supported virtual reality experiences to people living with dementia in Suffolk."

Suffolk are keen to have the opinions and feedback from those living with memory impairment/dementia and so Peter, along with others living with memory impairment, began the process of trialling the equipment.

The session was handled extremely sensitively and expertly by Suffolk and Spark staff and all participants were able to make constructive suggestions about how to take the work forward although Peter's idea about a piloting a spitfire or abseiling down the Martlesham Tower might not be universally embraced!

Peter is pleased to be a patron of For Brian CIC -  an evolving concept, co-produced by its directors in collaboration with its beneficiaries living with dementia. The company aims to empower people living with dementia and their families to design support that meets their individual needs, providing agency in challenging circumstances. Cycling plays a huge part in their existence.
