THE DAY OF THE DAYNAMO DRAWS EVER NEARER

Deb Bunt

So, it is nearly upon us: the Peter Berry version of the Dunwich Dynamo....our very own Dunwich Daynamo (so called because who on earth would want to cycle from London to Suffolk in during the night?)

As mentioned in the previous article, Peter, Teresa, Andrew and I will be cycling from London back to Suffolk and, in doing so, we are not only raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK - the UK's leading Alzheimer's research charity (alzheimersresearchuk.org), we are demonstrating yet again that it is possible to live well with dementia and we are also fulfilling one of Peter's ambitions to cycle this route.

Some time ago, Peter said to me, "When I cycle, I spit out my dementia." Whilst I do not want to encourage excessive expectoration, I do hope the 100 plus miles enables Peter to do just that (in a metaphorical sense, rather than a literal sense as I will probably be cycling behind him with a headwind).

We have - or more accurately, our modest IT backstage man has - created a JustGiving page. If you feel so inclined to donate to the cause, please feel free to do so using the link below.

Videos and updates will be posted during and after the event!

Peter is pleased to be a patron of For Brian CIC -  an evolving concept, co-produced by its directors in collaboration with its beneficiaries living with dementia. The company aims to empower people living with dementia and their families to design support that meets their individual needs, providing agency in challenging circumstances. Cycling plays a huge part in their existence.
