You know, it always amuses me: when you write on this website it suggests that you provide a punchy headline for your article and, despite scratching my head, racking my brains and using my old chum, Google/Quotations, I just couldn't come up with something pithy and punchy for the zoom meeting Peter had today.
Maybe that's a sign that I should leave the pithiness and punchiness to the paragon of the the pithy and punchy: Peter. The meeting itself - to social workers in adult care for North Walsham - was another successful one. As well as Peter's explanation and great illustrations of how he lives well with dementia, he was also able to answer the social workers' questions and, hopefully, his views will by useful to them in their everyday practice.
Peter is always happy to deliver these talks, despite the fact that they quickly disappear from his memory. One of the main points Peter always stresses during his talks is the importance of having a sense of purpose. And, if that sense of purpose helps others, then everyone's boxes are ticked.
Thank you to Jo, who contacted us in the first instance and to Petra for setting the meeting up.
Wow, we don't usually get responses on the website hence the reason I have only just checked through this one! Sorry for the tardy answer but thank you for taking the time to comment and for those remarks. But now I am intrigued by the quality of the Christmas singing....
Thank you for sharing your experiences with us, I cant tell how much of a valuable impact they made. There was alot of reflections of reminding us why we came into social work after a very difficult couple of years working thru covid. An absolute pleasure and was much more memorable than our Christmas singing that came after.
Many thanks again
